Care for Japan is an online community dedicated to helping Japan and its people overcome the devastation left in the wake of the March 11th, 2011 tsunami. We are focused on overcoming the bigotry passed along by some on Twitter by providing a place where caring people can meet and providing a way for people to interact and help in a positive way.
Our Mission
Spread the word about Care for Japan and to raise awareness and gather information about those who are still missing.
Using social media the best way to let Japan know we care and are doing something to help. With that being said, we are hosting a week long Twitter chat #care4Japan and invite all with open minds to participate beginning April 2nd and ending April 9th. Each day will showcase a new theme with the same end result in mind; bringing awareness to Japan’s needs.
We plan to gather a lot of attention for Japan and its needs through the traffic we drive to our site. Though we will not be taking donations ourselves, we have listed several external links to reputable organizations where donations to help in Japan’s relief efforts can be made. We are looking for sponsors willing to match donations dollar for dollar up to a certain amount to help in our efforts as well as those with prize incentives to offer.
Our Goal
Our goal is to provide a place where people can meet and together we can create a supportive community for those affected by the tsunami in Japan. Help can come in the form of a donation, kind and inspirational words, helpful information, spreading the word and a place where people can go for support.
